Ashton William Scott, son of Mark and Nicole Scott, of Valencia, was born at Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital in Valencia. He weighed 6 lbs, 12 oz and was 19 1/2 inches in length. He is the brother of Camryn Scott, 17 months. His grandparents are John and Nancy Stantzos, of Canoga Park, and Victoria Scott, of Chatsworth.

Arizona Rep. Giffords shot, several wounded

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) -- Rep. Gabrielle Giffords of Arizona was shot in the head Saturday, an aide was killed, and an unknown number of others were wounded when an assailant opened fire outside a grocery store as the Democratic lawmaker met with constituents, officials said.
