Elected leaders endorse Joe Messina for Hart Board

Numerous elected leaders have endorsed Joe Messina for the governing board of the William S. Hart Union High School District, including state Sen. George Runner, Sen. Tony Strickland, Assemblyman Cameron Smyth, Assemblywoman Audra Strickland and Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich.

"Joe Messina is a stand-up guy who will do the right things for our kids while protecting the taxpayers' pockets," said Sen. Strickland.

LA Deputy Sheriff endorsed Mike Berger for COC

The Association for Los Angeles Deputy Sheriff's has endorsed Mike Berger for Seat No. 1, of the Santa Clarita Community College District Board of Trustees, which governs College of the Canyons.

Steve Remige, president of the association, said the deputies were pleased to support Berger's candidacy for the COC board.

Deputies seek suspect in Oct. 11 kidnap attempt

Sheriff's detectives seek help from the public in identifying and locating a man who allegedly attempted to kidnap a woman in Canyon Country Oct. 11, though this incident does not appear to be related to other recent kidnap attempts in the Santa Clarita Valley, according to a report this afternoon from Lt. Brenda Cambra the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station.
