Detectives find $2,500 worth of heroin in man’s underwear

Deputies found about $2,500 worth of heroin inside a Pacoima man's underwear during a traffic stop in Sylmar, authorities said Tuesday. Juvenile Intervention Team and narcotics detectives stopped the man's car about 2 p.m. Monday on the 13000 block of Bradley Ave, Lt. Brenda Cambra of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station said in an e-mail. Authorities found about 1,000 doses of heroin in the man's underwear while searching him, Cambra said.

County to resurface Stevenson Ranch road

On Tuesday, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors approved a $1.5 million project to resurface the roadway pavement on Stevenson Ranch Parkway in Stevenson Ranch, county Mayor Michael D. Antonovich announced. Work is estimated to start in June 2011, and be completed in November 2011.
