Foothill baseball: A starting place

All it took for Golden Valley to claim its first Foothill League win of the year was some clutch hitting and solid relief pitching.

Fortunately for the Grizzlies, it only took two players to deliver both, and with that a 12-8 victory over Canyon at Canyon High Friday afternoon.

Review: 'Clash of the Titans'

There are too many Greek gods for me to keep straight, since as a child I didn't have action figures as a learning tool. I was prepared to take notes during "Clash of the Titans," but only wrote down a single one: "'Release the Kraken!' - Conan O'Brien." I know I was intended to be terrified by the release of the Kraken, but all I could think of was O'Brien shouting "Release the bear!" and then some guy in a bear suit runs out and sits on the lap of a guest. In this case, the Kraken is ...

Joe Klocko: Criteria for business success

When you think of California do words like innovative, leading-edge and trendy come to mind? A place where new ideas first take root before they become woven into the very fabric of the national culture and industrial base before becoming recognized around the world as being uniquely "American". If so, you may be surprised to learn that in one area, the critical business process of selecting and hiring new employees, California is lagging behind the rest of the country.
