Smyth lauds delay of sewage rate hike vote

SACRAMENTO - Assemblyman Cameron Smyth (R-Santa Clarita) issued the following statement today after the Santa Clarita Valley Sanitation Board delayed its vote on a potential sewage rate increase:

"I'm pleased that the members of the Santa Clarita Valley Sanitation Board took the prudent step of delaying the vote until next spring. I disagree with those who say Santa Clarita should bear the entire burden of chloride removal, and Tuesday's decision to delay gives our community considerable time to continue making our argument.

McKeon rips 2011 tax increases

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Rep. Howard P. "Buck" McKeon (R-CA) issued the following statement to highlight the intention of the Obama Administration and Speaker Nancy Pelosi to direct the largest tax increase in U.S. history on families and small businesses starting on Jan. 1, 2011:
