Utilize our natural resources

Some experts say that the BP oil spill is the result of militant environmentalists and their lackeys in Congress who have forced the oil companies to drill for oil miles offshore, in water that's a mile deep. They explain that there is no reason to drill in such risky waters when the largest oil reserve on the planet lies beneath federally owned land in the Rockies.

Regarding "New York mosque is insensitive," (July 24): The practitioners of Islam, for centuries, have constructed mosques at the site of their greatest victories on the battlefield and have devoted such places to the glory of Allah who has given them the victory.

Erosion of religious freedom

Despite it being part of our First Amendment rights, the "free exercise" of religion in America is being eroded by the Obama administration in its public pronouncements. Instead of the constitutionally guaranteed "freedom of religion," the president and his secretary of state have begun to publicly replace the phrase with "freedom of worship."
