SAN FRANCISCO -- As the new year begins, the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) reminds employers of new labor laws. The intent of the new legislation varies from providing more flexibility to employers, to expanding paid leave for employees. The following new laws went into effect on Jan. 1, 2011:
LOS ANGELES COUNTY -- The Board of Supervisors unanimously approved access ramps and repair drop structures at the Santa Clara River South Fork in the city of Santa Clarita, according to Mayor Michael D. Antonovich.
The city of Santa Clarita begins construction for its Traffic Circulation Improvement Project on Bouquet Canyon Road today. The project is set to end on Feb. 10.
