Boy dies in crash on Interstate 5
A 13-year-old boy died today in a collision on northbound Interstate 5 just south of Calgrove, California Highway Patrol officials said.

Salon raises breast cancer awareness
'NStyle salon is hosting several events between Saturday and Oct. 17, raising money for Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Corvettes for a cause
The Santa Clarita Valley Corvette Club is hosting a car show to benefit The Painted Turtle, Saturday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Route 66 Classic Grill in Canyon Country.
Placerita open space dedication
City officials will dedicate 140 acres of open space in Placerita Canyon at 4 p.m. today. The so-called East Walker Ranch property, formerly home to Special Devices, Inc., was purchased last summer with funds from Santa Clarita's Open Space Preservation District.
