The yuccas are in bloom. Those wonderful, huge stalks bursting with white flowers that look like popcorn are nearly everywhere. I recently drove from downtown Los Angeles to the Santa Clarita Valley along the Foothill Freeway and there were hundreds of yuccas in bloom along the route.
