It was a pre-dinner dinner concert of "wonderful songs" that drew dozens of residents of FountainGlen at Valencia to the main community room to listen as Katherine Lench, Charles Herrera and Dennis Poore entertained with a roster of familiar songs that included standards and show tunes.

Bill Lively crooned the classic standard "It Had to Be You" as 15 Santa Clarita Valley Woman of the Year nominees stood nervously and smiled, clutching their nomination plaques. Suddenly the lyrics changed and Lively sang "Nancy Coulter, it had to be you" as he reached for Coulter to bring her out of the crowd of nominees to the front of the stage in the Grand Ballroom of the Hyatt Valencia.
