It was a wine lovers' paradise Sunday as Guy LeLarge of Valencia Wine Company hosted several hundred friends and customers at the rescheduled fourth annual Holiday Wine Tasting held at the Tournament Players Club in Valencia.
Magic of the Lights Gala kicks off holiday season
Didn't it look a lot like Christmas at the Magic of the Lights Gala held at the Hyatt Valencia? The festively attire crowd of more than 300 raised nearly $60,000 during the live auction to benefit the Santa Clarita Valley Boys & Girls Club during the sixth annual Festival of the Trees gala. The gala was held after the public display closed for the evening.

Jousting the day away
The American Jousting Alliance will host the Frazier Mountain Jousting Tournament and Fair, 11 a.m. to sundown on Saturday at Tait Ranch, 3 miles west of I-5 and Frazier Mountain Park Road in Frazier Park. The event includes a competive sport jousting and medieval equestrian skill-at-arms tournament said James Zoppe, event organizer.

Merry Graham cooks up more wins
I've just returned from my retreat on Whidbey Island, Wash. It was a lovely week which I spent visiting with friends, drinking salted caramel hot coco at the Local Grown coffee shop and taking in a great community theater production of "The Full Monty." I also had a fantastic seafood dinner of salmon, fresh Dungeness crab and fresh crab cakes. It really doesn't get any better than that!

It seems that spring has sprung! I've enjoyed watching the trees and flowers bloom throughout the Santa Clarita Valley in recent weeks. The hills are even green. I know it won't last, but it is lovely for the moment. I am looking forward to the yuccas that bloom in May, my favorite time of year.
