Skate jam commemorates lost boarder

Hundreds attended the Albert Castro Memorial Skate Jam event held at the city of Santa Clarita Skate Park on Saturday. The event remembered the popular 18-year-old skateboarder from Castaic who was killed in a traffic collision in January while riding his skateboard in Stevenson Ranch.

Held at Golden Valley High School, the second annual fair focused on one of the fastest-growing student populations, said Geni Peterson-Henry, coordinator of the event for the William S.
