Newhall County Water District’s solar powered offices

Installer Javier Alvarado carries one of the 202 solar panels that will be placed on the roof of the new Newhall County Water District administration building in Newhall on Thursday. The solar panels incorporated into the building's roof line will supply more than 50 percent of the office building's energy needs. The water district's new $7.5 million headquarters, located at 23780 N. Pine St., is LEED certified.
