Your Home Improvements, I have a question for Robert. I'm looking for a more finished look in my garage which is currently exposed concrete block. Can you drywall over concrete? Since there are no studs there, do you just glue it on? Thank you very much, Stanley S. Hi Stanley There are a few different options for precision block garages - the most popular being either paint or drywall. It is possible to ...

Hi Robert, We have water seeping through our subterranean garage wall along approximately 120 feet. They are suggesting either Xypex, Dry Lock or a coring injection. We would very much appreciate sharing your views on this matter as ...

Hi Robert, I live in a multi-story condo complex and some of the stairwell doors don't close right. Is that a fire code violation? We also have one door leading out to the roof that you can see daylight streaming in around the frame. Shouldn't it be sealed properly? Thank you, Tom C. Hi Tom, You are absolutely right. Whenever you have an interior corridor hallway, it is considered your safety zone. hose are ...
Hi Robert, I read your column faithfully. I have a very slow drain in our double sink bathroom vanity. I have used a chemical plumbing product several times and that provides a temporary solution. I plan to call a plumber to unstop the sink BUT since our heat has just gone on for the season I can hear a low "whining" noise coming from the sink when the water is running and the heater is ...
