GV’s Totten forced to pull up
Golden Valley cross country runner Seth Totten fought a losing battle Saturday morning in Walnut at the Foot Locker Cross Country Championships. The junior fought the pain of a dislocated metatarsal in his right foot, but was unable to finish the five-kilometer Boys Seeded Race at Mt. San Antonio College.

Tujague's peers thought Jonathon Hollins and Dejuan Yates were the same guy.

Recently, Saugus High girls golf head coach David Stradling went to bed thinking, "Yeah, maybe my team can compete for a Foothill League title."
New rule on the books
The Foothill League has implemented a new policy and will limit the amount of contact a coach can have with his or her athletes to 10 hours per week Monday through Saturday. The policy is a response to the elimination on July 1 of CIF-Southern Section By-Law 313 - the Athletic Association Rule.
Saugus survival
Saugus football survived its first-round CIF-Southern Section Northern Division game Friday night at Cougar Stadium, beating Righetti of Santa Maria 29-17. Ryan Zirbel didn't survive it.
