Woman collapses on side of Valencia road

A woman in her 40s required medical aid shortly before noon Thursday after she collapsed on a curb near her still-running SUV on Creekside Road near Auto Center Drive. A number of deputies and paramedics responded to the scene after about five Good Samaritans stopped to help the woman. Gas prices on the rise

Although national gas prices have been declining, prices in California started rising this week as heavier-than-anticipated refinery maintenance continued on the West Coast, California energy officials said Friday. Oil pipeline deal OK’d by city leaders

The Santa Clarita City Council approved a franchise agreement this week for the operation of an oil pipeline that runs under roads in Valencia. Residents living in four separate parcels slated for annexation into the city of Santa Clarita have until Monday to protest, according to state officials. The Los Angeles County Local Agency Formation Commission, a state agency and independent body overseen by a nine-member commission, unanimously approved the annexation of Copperstone, Elsmere Canyon, Soledad Commons and Vista Canyon/Fair Oaks/Jakes Way/Sand Canyon annexations last month.
