Rail board approves study of Sand Canyon routes
The California High Speed Rail Authority board approved the study of two routes for the Bay Area-to-Los Angeles train that would take passengers travelling between Sylmar and Palmdale on a rail that comes close to Sand Canyon schools and homes, a spokeswoman confirmed Friday.

Santa Clarita's planning manager, Lisa Webber, has resigned to become deputy director of planning for the city of Los Angeles in June, city officials said Monday.
