More than 100 firefighters from the Los Angeles County Fire Department and U.S. Forest Service were able to quickly contain a brush fire that broke out in Castaic Friday night.

The fire was reported at about 8:30 p.m. Friday near the intersection of The Old Road and Victoria Road, said supervising fire department dispatcher Robert Diaz.

But crews were able to contain and extinguish the fire by 10:49 p.m., according to an official with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

As of 10 a.m. Saturday, crews were still on the scene doing some final clean up.

"They're out there doing mop-up work right now," the spokesman said.

No one was injured and no structures were damaged in the fire, according to the spokesman.
