At least three burglary suspects were detained today, including two at gunpoint found hiding in an empty hot tub in West Ridge.

Three burglary suspects, including a woman found hiding in a trash can and two men hiding in an empty hot tub, were arrested in Westridge Monday afternoon following a high-speed chase on Interstate 5.

About 1:45 p.m., Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies received reports of burglars breaking into a home in the area of Lupine Street near Star Canyon Place off of Hillcrest Parkway, said Lt. Tom Bryski of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

Deputies pursued a 2013 Nissan Altima from Hillcrest onto the freeway. One pursuing deputy reported the suspects’ car traveling by Magic Mountain Parkway at 100 miles per hour.

Deputies found the car abandoned on the west side of the interstate on Sycamore Canyon Drive off of Valencia Boulevard.

A perimeter was set up around Valencia Boulevard.

A woman and two men, one wearing tan pants and a gray hoodie, were tracked from Castaic to a home on Fairway Lane in the Westridge area, Bryski said.

Shortly before 3:30 p.m., deputies reported holding two suspects at gunpoint on Fairway Lane south of Sycamore Meadow Drive, Bryski said.

“We found two guys hiding under the cover of a hot tub and a female hiding in a trash can,” he said.

A fourth possible suspect had been detained by deputies who remained at the burglarized home in Castaic at Star Canyon and Lupine, Bryski said.
