A Valencia woman charged with felony hit and run for a vehicle collision that put a Nehwall bicyclist in the hospital in March is expected to appear in court today.

Lindsay Feeley, 20, was arrested March 15 by Santa Clarita Valley sheriff’s deputies and booked on suspicion of having left the scene of a traffic collision.

Last month, she appeared in San Fernando Superior Court and entered a plea of not guilty, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office said at the time.

Today she is expected to return to the same courtroom to set a date for a preliminary hearing.

On March 15, shortly before 10:30 p.m., firefighters received a report of a car hitting a pedestrian on Wiley Canyon Road at Wabuska Street in Newhall, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County Fire Department said at the time.
A man injured in the crash is still recovering, according to the local attorney representing him.

Louis Santana, 44, of Newhall, suffered head injuries in the crash, Rick Patterson of the Santa Clarita law firm Owen, Patterson & Owen, told The Signal last week.

“His body flew over the car, and he landed a considerable distance away, perhaps 60 to 75 feet,” he said.

Paramedics with the Los Angeles County Fire Department who responded to the crash found an injured male who was riding a bicycle without a helmet while crossing the intersection when he was hit, one firefighter told The Signal in March.

“He went to Henry Mayo (Newhall Memorial) Hospital as a traumatic injury,” the firefighter said.

Santana suffered injuries to his head, wrists and knees, Patterson said.

“He had 23 staples to his head,” he said. “He had a big laceration to his head, a broken knee, he fractured his wrist.

“He was really banged up, and he was on crutches for awhile, ” he said.
