SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. (AP) — San Luis Obispo County sheriff's say the search will continue for a 21-year-old who went missing Thursday while swimming off a rugged section of coastline.

Sgt. Steve Odom says the search area near Spooner's Cove was experiencing high surf Saturday morning, but the search for 21-year-old Stefan Wagner will resume as soon as conditions allow.

A dive team, a search and rescue team and helicopters scoured the coastline that is lined with rocky outcroppings and cliffs. Now, searchers hope to recover his body.

The San Luis Obispo Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/19ezrhv ) that Wagner, a former water polo player from Fresno, swam into dangerous waters at the cove in Montana de Oro State Park.

Park ranger Lisa Remington says Wagner swam out, dove under water and never came back up.
