Sheriff's deputies arrested a suspect in Wednesday's Canyon Country bank robbery just a few miles from the Bank of America branch he allegedly hit, officials said Friday.

Scott Price, of Canyon Country, is due to be arraigned Monday in Santa Clarita Superior Court.

Deputies arrested Price late Thursday night at an apartment complex in the 27000 block of Solamint Road in Canyon Country, less than two miles from the bank.

Price, 45, allegedly entered the Bank of America in the 19100 block of Soledad Canyon Road just before 2:40 p.m. Wednesday holding a note demanding money, Sgt. Darren Harris said.

Witnesses said he was armed.

Price allegedly passed a note to a teller demanding money and escaped with an undisclosed amount, Harris said.

Deputies used the video surveillance from the bank and community tips to identify the suspect, according to a Sheriff's Department statement.

Deputies recovered what they believe is the vehicle used to flee the scene. Additional evidence was recovered from Price's home, the Sheriff's Department statement said.

Deputies booked Price on a felony robbery charge; he is being held in lieu of $50,000 bond.

If convicted, he would face up to five years in state prison.
