ORCUTT, Calif. (AP) — Fire officials say 200 homes have been evacuated as a wind-fanned vegetation fire threatens structures in northern Santa Barbara County.

County fire spokesman David Sadecki says the fire is burning between 50 to 75 acres, and forward motion has stopped on the flames that first broke out around 1:30 p.m. Thursday.

KEYT-TV reports the fire broke out at Rice Ranch in Orcutt, and is being fanned by wind gusts of nearly 30 mph.
