LANCASTER — A woman found inside the Acton mobile home of a convicted murderer was naked and “under the influence,” a parole officer testified Wednesday in the rape trial of the woman’s alleged assailant.

Arthur Eugene Lindsey, 73, of Acton was charged with two counts of rape of an unconscious person, one count of oral copulation of an unconscious person and one count of sexual penetration of an unconscious person after being arrested June 5 by his parole officer.

Officer Thomas E. Foster explained the events leading up to the arrest when he took the witness stand Wednesday in Antelope Valley Superior Court in Lancaster.

As Lindsey’s newly assigned parole officer, Foster introduced himself at Lindsey’s White Rock Lake Mobile Home Park.

“I peeked inside (Lindsey’s home) around a corner and saw a naked woman,” Foster said. “It took the female a few minutes to put her clothes on.”

Foster said he took the woman outside and asked her questions, but her speech was slurred, her gait unstable, and she kept nodding off during questioning.

“I asked her if she knew of Lindsey’s prior record and Lindsey responded (to the woman), ‘I told you that I spent 33 years in prison,’” Foster testified, adding that Lindsey answered many of the questions directed at the woman.

Lindsey was convicted of murder during the commission of rape on Jan. 29, 1965, in Pike County, Indiana, court papers filed in Los Angeles show.

Foster said he also found some marijuana inside the mobile home and discovered photographs of the woman naked on Lindsey’s cellphone.
