ONTARIO, Calif. (AP) — Three people have been injured in Ontario after police say a suspected drunken driver sped through a DUI checkpoint and crashed into another vehicle.

The Inland Valley Daily Bulletin reports (http://bit.ly/19D9DLh) the collision occurred about 8 p.m. Friday. Police say 30-year-old Matthew Collins was driving a white minvan that blew through the checkpoint, ran a red light and struck a SUV.

Collins was arrested and booked for investigation of DUI and felony hit and run.

Witnesses say the vehicle was traveling at nearly 100 mph. Authorities say Collins jumped out of the vehicle after the crash and ran away. He was later captured.

The SUV driver was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries. Two passengers in the minivan also were hospitalized with minor injuries.
