Synchronized signals provide plenty of reading time

Some time ago The Signal reported that city engineers were working to synchronize our Santa Clarita traffic signals, and I’m happy to report that they thus far they have done a great job.

I now find as I drive around town that if I make one signal, I am stopped at the next, and then I make the next signal and am stopped at the next, and on and on.

It’s just great!

After all, nobody wants to drive long stretches without stopping. It’s boring. You might even fall asleep.

This way, we get to stop and gather our thoughts.

We get to look around at our lovely neighborhoods and we can wave to neighbors.

Of course, large intersections have always been a pain for impatient drivers, but here I note a wonderful improvement.

Now when I’m stopped I have time to read only a very short novel.
