A workshop is scheduled today for Powerhouse Fire victims to help them connect with recovery services, Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich announced.

The workshop is scheduled at 3-8 p.m. at Hughes Elizabeth Lake Union Elementary School, 16633 Elizabeth Lake Road in Lake Hughes.

On hand for the workshop will be representatives from relief organizations such as the Red Cross, utility firms such as Southern California Edison, county and state emergency management agencies, and other county agencies such as Animal Care and Control and the Assessor’s Office, as well as Mental Health and Public Social Services.

The Powerhouse Fire destroyed 30 homes in the Lake Hughes area and blackened more than 30,000 acres in late May and early June, burning for more than a week and threatening the communities of Green Valley and Elizabeth Lake.
