If you are looking to create a few new memories with your family and friends this summer, plan a trip using public transportation. Santa Clarita Transit is everywhere you want to be, from Santa Monica Beach and Hollywood to Main Street in Old Town Newhall.

Santa Clarita Transit offers services that make it convenient and affordable to travel throughout the Santa Clarita Valley or to visit other neighboring cities and tourist destinations to enjoy events, restaurants, theaters and more.

And if you need help planning your trip, you’ll find a variety of tools available, from an online trip planner to text and email rider alerts, which make it convenient to ride Santa Clarita Transit.

Head to Santa Monica Beach with the Summer Beach Bus

The city of Santa Clarita is proud to bring back the Summer Beach Bus. The air-conditioned bus ride is the perfect way to get to Santa Monica beach without the trouble and stress of traffic and parking.

The beach bus operates on Saturdays and Sundays from today through Sept. 1 with convenient locations throughout Santa Clarita. Fares are $3 each way for children and adults, and $1.50 each way for persons with disabilities and seniors 60 years of age and over.

Buses depart Santa Clarita beginning at 8:40 a.m. and arrive in Santa Monica around 10:30 a.m. Return trips to Santa Clarita will pick up patrons from Santa Monica at 3:30 p.m.

You can board the beach bus at several locations including: Canyon Country Park, Soledad Canyon Road and Solamint Drive, Soledad Canyon Road and Shangri-La Drive, Via Princessa Metrolink Station, Santa Clarita Park, Santa Clarita Metrolink Station, Cinema Drive Park ‘N Ride, and the McBean Regional Transit Center.

Use local routes to enjoy evenings on Main Street

Santa Clarita Transit has eight local bus routes that travel to various locations throughout town, allowing you to enjoy summer fun right in your community.

One of the best local hot spots this summer is Old Town Newhall, where every Thursday you can enjoy an event featuring food and music on Main Street as part of the city’s "Thursdays at Newhall" program.

Most businesses stay open later to accommodate evening shoppers and with longer daylight hours, Thursdays are the perfect way to get your weekend started right.

Routes 1, 2, 4, 5, 6 and 14, offer service to Main Street, where you can enjoy the following events:

Farmers’ Market: Pick up some of the region’s best farm-fresh fruits, vegetables, flowers and specialty food items every Thursday night from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the market, which is now located in the Old Town Newhall Library’s parking lot.

ArtSlam: On the first Thursday of each month from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., enjoy large interactive art installations, artwork by local artists, and themed art galleries on Main Street.

Senses: These monthly themed block parties are the talk of the town. Enjoy bands, food trucks, themed activities, contests, and more every third Thursday from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Visit other cities with the 757 NoHo Express

The 757 NoHo Express is a valley-to-valley transit service that connects to almost any destination seven days a week. The route provides opportunities to connect to LADOT Express services, Burbank Bus, numerous Metro bus services, as well as Metro’s Orange and Red lines.

The added convenience of mid-day return trips on the 757 NoHo Express provides affordable transportation options to visit major attractions, including Los Angeles Union Station, Staples Center, Hollywood, Universal City, Van Nuys, Burbank, Pasadena and Long Beach.
