A community campaign is now uniting two William S. Hart Union High School District schools in order to stop the use of child soldiers. Valencia High School is now joining Canyon High School's Human Rights Watch Student Task Force by forming their own Human Rights Club. Both schools have been collecting Red Hands, which symbolize the fight against the use of child soldiers.

The two student groups were represented at a Human Rights Watch dinner recently, utilizing $500-a-plate tickets donated by supporters. The Santa Clarita delegation met with the night's honorees, which were from the nations of Burma and Uzbekistan, motivating local students to conduct their own local campaigns.
