Gun-control legislation is ludicrous

The latest round of the California Senate’s and Assembly’s passing of the most restrictive gun control legislation ever is a deviation so far removed from American principles and the protections guaranteed by the United States Constitution that it seriously makes a straight-thinking and responsible citizen believe we no longer live in America.

One of the bills already half way approved to becoming law would require all weapons to be locked up in safes or through use of trigger or cable locks, even if no children reside in the home.

In effect, this ludicrous law clearly states that if I needed to protect my family from an intruder, I would have to resort to throwing a pillow at him because the weapons I owned for that purpose are locked safely away.

In my opinion, the lawmakers who believe this sort of legislation will curb gun violence are either stupid, to say it nicely, or in business with the criminals to allow them the freedom to engage in their criminal activities unchallenged.

With such inept and irresponsible politics tearing down our values, moral fiber, and moreover our constitutional rights, I am not sure it is still appropriate to fly the American flag in the Golden State.
