LOS ANGELES (AP) — A small helicopter has crashed on a ridge in Los Angeles' rugged Griffith Park.

KCAL-TV reports the private Robinson R44 helicopter went down about 2:30 p.m. Thursday.

Fire Department spokesman Erik Scott says three people aboard the aircraft suffered minor injuries, and a park ranger who went to the scene suffered possible heat exhaustion. The ranger's been hoisted into a Fire Department helicopter for a flight to a hospital.

The crash left the helicopter, its tail boom broken, lying on its side near a ridgeline trail.
