The Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation will host the 2009 Spring Adult Classic Fishing Derby on March 7. Participants can win first- through tenth-place prizes in the contest for catching the heaviest trout.

The event will take place from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Apollo Park in Lancaster. Admission is $15 presale and $20 at the door.
