Another member of the Hart High football team has received national attention this week, as wide receiver Davis Koppenhaver received two collegiate offers.

The junior wide receiver picked up his first two offers, from Iowa State of the Big 12 Conference and Nevada of the Mountain West Conference, Hart High head coach Mike Herrington confirmed on Thursday.

“It’s really exciting,” Koppenhaver said. “I didn’t really expect an offer this early and it was nice to get those first ones out of the way.”

Koppenhaver emerged as a threat in the Indians’ passing game during his junior year, despite playing most of the season out of his natural position.

The junior is being targeted by both universities as a tight end. The Hart offense does not normally feature a tight end, though, so Koppenhaver has played wide receiver for the Indians.

“I thought it was going to be pretty hard, but the schools that have been contacting me the most run similar offenses to what we run at Hart,” he said.
