A dramatic demonstration by exhibition shooter Tim Bradley captivated attendees of the fifth annual "How the West Was Won" trap shoot with Bradley’s dead-eye shooting skill.

"We’re here to have a little fun and entertain the people," said Bradley.

Representing Team Benelli Bradley used a variety of Benelli guns to demonstrate a variety of "impossible" shots which earned him enthusiastic applause from the audience.

After the exhibition participants took to the ranges to try their hand at shooting clay targets launched into the air.

The event, held to benefit Carousel Ranch, featured teams that competed in three rounds of trap shooting followed by a barbecue lunch and announcement of the winning teams.

Carousel Ranch provides therapeutic horseback riding for the disabled. It combines instruction in traditional horsemanship skills with concepts of physical therapy to improve the strength, balance, and self-esteem for physically and mentally disabled children and adults.

"Every year this event has gotten bigger and bigger," said Eric Stroh, president of Carousel Ranch board of directors. "We sold out again this year and had to increase the number of ranges so we could increase the number of teams participating."

Heart of the West to benefit Carousel Ranch will be held 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24 at Agua Dulce Airport. 33638 Agua Dulce Canyon Road Agua Dulce. The 17th Annual Heart of The West will feature dinner, auction (live and silent) and children’s demonstration presented by Princess Cruises Foundation. Info: or call 661-268-8010.
