A second young woman hurt in a three-vehicle traffic collision in Valencia late Saturday night suffered injuries more serious than first believed, said the traffic deputy investigating the crash.

According to a traffic report compiled by Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies, the young woman suffered a broken arm and a lacerated spleen, said Detective Travis Kelly.

Michael Guebara, 32, is charged with a felony count of driving under the influence of alcohol in the crash, he said.
“He ran a red light and hit two cars making a left-hand turn from the other direction,” Travis said. “As a result of the crash, there were two patients.”

The crash occurred at 10:48 p.m. Saturday near the intersection of Newhall Ranch Road and Copper Hill Drive, said Inspector Bernard Peters.

Paramedics took one patient to the hospital from the crash at 11:20 p.m., Peters said.
The second woman went to the hospital on her own, Travis said Tuesday.
