The Festival of Ideas aims to further good governance in Nigeria and throughout Africa by addressing issues concerning democracy and democratic institutions, strengthening leadership and addressing poverty. The conference also focused on how to promote investments in Nigeria and other African nations.

Clinton and United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan were among the international dignitaries who attended the conference.

Delano, whose new CD "My So Fine" was just released by Nu Groove Records, is touring with Richie throughout South Africa and Europe. The two artists performed at the awards gala.
