Canyon Country East crime report: Attempted scissor-stabbing reported

Canyon Country East, Zone 8, Public Safety and Crime Prevention Information. Snap Shot 05/13/2013 – 05/19/2013.

This week in Canyon Country-East we had 12 Part-1 crimes. Of those reported crimes, there were 2 assaults, 2 burglaries, 7 larcenies and 1 stolen vehicle.

An assault occurred from the 28000 block of Sarabande Lane on May 13th at 10:00 pm. During an argument between a father and son, the son grabbed a knife and threatened to stab the victim. The suspect was arrested. An assault occurred from the 14300 block of Rushmore Court on May 11th at 11:00 pm. The suspect arrived to the victim’s party uninvited. While at the party the suspect locked himself in various rooms of the home while doing drugs. When the victim told the suspect to leave the party, the suspect retrieved a pair of scissors and attempted to stab the victim. The victim punched the suspect in an attempt to stop the assault. The victim left the location and drove to St. Joseph’s Memorial Hospital to be treated for his injuries. The suspect then filed a police report with Burbank Police Department claiming the victim assaulted him without provocation.

Residential burglaries occurred at the following locations: The 17500 block of Harris Way on May 14th between 8:30 am – 6:00 pm. Two televisions and an electric razor motorcycle were stolen. Entry was made through the unlocked sliding glass door; The 18000 block of Anne’s Circle on May 15th, between 10:00 am – 2:30 pm. Jewelry was stolen from the victim’s bedroom. Entry was made by prying the front door.

A petty theft occurred from the Kohl’s parking lot on May 17th at 1:00 PM. The victim’s purse was stolen from a shopping cart while she was loading items into her car. A theft occurred from the 27900 block of Tyler Lane. The victim’s backpack was stolen after it was left unattended on the ground near the garage. Shopliftings occurred from Round Table Pizza, Kohl’s and (2) at the Target Store. A theft from unlocked vehicle occurred from the 29300 block of Begonias Lane between May 12th, 6:30 pm – May 13th, 8:30 am. The victim’s wallet and car keys belonging to his sister were stolen. The suspect(s) used the stolen car keys to steal a 2013 Nissan Altima which was also parked on Begonia’s Lane. The vehicle was recovered on May 16th by CHP

11 arrests were made by proactive deputies for various narcotics violations, assault, burglary, and drunk in public.

Continue to lock your windows, garage doors and make sure to also lock your vehicles.
