The Master's College said farewell to the Volunteer State and its season as the Mustangs bowed out from the NAIA Division I Women's Tournament on Friday in Jackson, Tennessee.

The Lady Mustangs were defeated by the No. 1 seeded Bulldogs of Union University in second round tournament action 95-78.

This is the Bulldogs second win this season over the Lady Mustangs ending TMC's season at 21-12.

Both teams met back on Nov. 16 with the Bulldogs defeating the Lady Mustangs 110-99.

Union has ended TMC's season in three straight NAIA Tournaments.

The Bulldogs started off Friday's game putting the pressure on the Lady Mustangs with a 15-0 run.

TMC answered it with an 11-2 spurt, cutting the margin to 17-11.

That's the closest the Lady Mustangs would get.

Union went on a 16-4 run after a 3-pointer from TMC's Jenna Reed to take a 43-24 lead with less than two minutes left in the half.

The Bulldogs took a 45-28 lead into halftime.

TMC came out with more offense in the second half. The problem was, so did Union.

They combined for 100 points.

TMC got to within eight points in the second half, but Kayla Hudson's 3-pointer with less than 10 minutes left in the game gave Union a 68-57 lead.

Hudson's trey left the Bulldogs in the lead by double digits for the rest of the game.

She led all scorers with 23 points.

The Lady Mustangs were out-rebounded by the Bulldogs 48-30.

TMC had five players in double figures and was led by Stacy Nanninga's 18 points. Jennifer Ayers-Stamper scored 15 points, Erica Inge and Amanda DuRocher each had 12 points and Annie Gillespie had 11.

The difference was also shooting.

TMC was 26-of-73 from the field, while Union was 31-of-61.

Gillespie and Ayers-Stamper were a combined 9-for-32.

Gillespie was 11-of-18 in the Nov. 16 meeting with a career-high 29 points.
