A Los Angeles Unified School District teacher, who lives in Valencia, has pleaded not guilty to charges of possessing child pornography, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office said.

Douglas Randolph Collins, 46, entered a plea of not guilty May 15 when he appeared in San Fernando Superior Court, said Jane Robison Wednesday.

Collins was arrested last month at the Van Nuys Educational Service Center and charged with possession of child pornography, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

He worked as a 5th grade teacher at Fernangeles Elementary from 2004 through 2010, according to the Los Angeles Teacher Ratings.

Collins is scheduled to have his case heard next month at a courtroom in Los Angeles as opposed to the one in San Fernando, Robison said.
