FRAZIER PARK (AP) — A fire that broke last week near Frazier Park has closed a state park and already has cost more than $6 million to fight.

Fire officials said on Monday that the fire, which consumed some 4,346 acres in Kern and Ventura counties, is 90 percent contained.

More than 1,000 firefighters, 39 engines, two helicopters and other equipment have battled the blaze.

The fire broke out Wednesday two miles from Frazier Park. Officials said the blaze moved into the hills, burning on state and federal land, and did not threaten the town nor destroy any homes or buildings.
