A child was rushed to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital following an incident at a community pool today, officials said.

Shortly before 4:15 p.m., officials with the Los Angeles County Fire Department received 911 calls from people reporting a child in need of urgent medical attention at a pool on Rue Crevier, west of Rainbow Glen Drive, said Inspector Al Jackson.

“We don’t know if it was a drowning, near drowning, in the pool, out of the pool.  We got the call for a child,” he said.

About 4 p.m., paramedics rushed to a Saugus pool today for reports of a child who nearly drowned but, by 4:30 p.m., the child appeared to have recovered to some extent, said Lt. Tom Bryski of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

Paramedics left the pool shortly after 4:30 p.m., Jackson said.
