Stimulus an albatross

President Obama has signed the stimulus bill, which really isn't a stimulus bill at all.

It will do little to stimulate the economy and is a financial albatross that has been hung around our necks and the necks of future generations of taxpayers.

A package valued at $787 billion carries with it, assuming an interest rate of three percent, the accrual of almost $65 million dollars a day in interest. Sixty-five million dollars a day! Rational people should find that simultaneously offensive and frightening.

Can anybody in Congress do math? I wonder. It is no wonder that our Democratically controlled Congress has placed on every person, every family and every business in this country, a long-term tax burden from which future generations may never be able to recover.
