Two lanes of southbound Interstate 5 near Hasley Canyon Road were closed for almost three hours Thursday afternoon after two big rigs collided, blocking traffic and scattering debris in the area, a California Highway Patrol official said.

CHP Officer Jennifer Cassidy said the crash occurred around 1:33 p.m. As a result of the collision, the big rigs blocked the two lanes nearest the right shoulder of the I-5 from Hasley Canyon Road to Highway 126.

The roadway was clear and reopened fully at 4:12 p.m., Cassidy said.

Cassidy said part of the reason it took so long to reopen the lanes was that one of the trucks had to be towed away due to damage to the trailer.

No injuries were reported in the crash, Cassidy said.
