Woman pleads innocent in collision with bicyclist

A Valencia woman charged with felony hit and run for a vehicle collision with a bicyclist last March has pleaded not guilty this week, court papers show.

Lindsay Feeley, 20, was arrested March 15 by Santa Clarita Valley sheriff’s deputies and booked on suspicion of having left the scene of a traffic collision.

She appeared in San Fernando Superior Court on Monday and entered a plea of not guilty, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office said Tuesday.

Feeley was ordered to appear back in court next month to set a preliminary hearing date.

On March 15, shortly before 10:30 p.m., firefighters received a report of a car hitting a pedestrian on Wiley Canyon Road at Wabuska Street in Newhall, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County Fire Department said.

Paramedics found an injured male who had been crossing the intersection on a bicycle. The man, who was not wearing a helmet, had been hit by a vehicle, firefighters reported.

The injured man was taken to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital. Detective Travis Kelly last week that the bicyclist is expected to recover from his injuries.
