Grace Baptist Church
Easter Sunday: 6:30 a.m. sunrise service in the Hillside Amphitheater, 9 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. services in the Worship Center The church will also recreate the last week of the life of Christ through a Passion Play. A cast of 60 costumed actors and dancers will join the 50-piece orchestra and 100-voice choir to musically portray the significant events of the Passion, including a recreation of the last supper and the crucifixion.

The Passion Play will take place today at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. Admission is free and no tickets are required.

Newhall Church of the Nazarene Easter Sunday:
A sunrise service at 6 a.m. under the oak tree behind the church. Dress warmly and bring a flashlight. The 9 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. worship services will also be held.

The choir will perform Easter music and Pastor Greg Garman's Easter message, "The Empty Tomb," will focus on I Corinthians 15, where Paul writes about the value and power because of Jesus' resurrection.

A continental breakfast will be served in the Fellowship Hall between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. Children's Easter egg hunts will take place during both of the morning services.

Santa Clarita United Methodist Church

On Easter Sunday, Santa Clarita United Methodist Church will commence their celebration at 9:30 a.m. with the Silver Jubilee Ringers and The Chancel Voices Choir. The Littlest Disciples Choir will prelude the Chancel Voices Choir performing the Easter Cantata "Praise the God of Resurrection."

The choir will be accompanied by a 12-piece orchestra, which will feature graduate students from Cal Arts and other local musicians.

Additional Easter Sunday services: 8 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Korean language services, led by the Reverend Seung-Min James Shin, will take place at 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.

Easter Monday: The Sunday after Easter, Pastor Stan Fix will lead services at 8 a.m., 9:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m.

Perhaps as early as the year 400 AD, it was the custom of the early Christians to observe the Monday after Easter as a day of joy and laughter to celebrate the joke that God has played on Evil by raising Jesus from the dead.

On Easter Monday, early Christians will gather at Santa Clarita United Methodist Church to share humorous stories, sing and have fun.
