20 Part 1 crimes reported in Valencia during week

Zone 5-Valencia had twenty Part-1 Crimes reported during the past week. The criminal incidents included a, residential burglary, grand theft auto, theft from an unlocked vehicle, and shoplifting from local businesses.

A residential burglary occurred on the 23000 block of Tupelo Ridge Drive between the months of February-May. There was no forced entry made into the home. The items stolen were a plasma television, silver coins and silverware.

A grand theft of a vehicle occurred on the 25000 block of Anizo Way Drive on a weekday at 9:30 am. The vehicle stolen was a 1984 Toyota 2013 which was left unlocked in a parking lot. No suspect(s) have been identified in this incident.

A theft from an unlocked vehicle occurred on the 23000 block of Sherwood Place on a Friday evening between the hours of 6:30 pm – 7:00 pm. The vehicle was parked in the driveway. Items stolen were the DMW registration and miscellaneous change from the center console area.

Do not become a victim! Please do not leave valuables unattended or visible in your vehicles. Secure items in locked trunks or take personal belongings with you when you exit your vehicle. If possible, park in well-lit areas. If you see any suspicious activity or vehicles in your neighborhood, please call the Sheriff’s Station immediately at 661-255-1121.

There were twelve arrests made by proactive Santa Clarita Deputies assigned to the Valencia area last week. Arrests included possession of narcotics, driving under the influence of a controlled substance, drunk in public, warrants and shoplifting from local businesses.
