Vehicle burglaries are the most common type of property crime here in the Santa Clarita Valley. Criminals are looking for items of value left unattended and in plain view. Unfortunately, these criminals are able to gain access into your vehicle and take your property in record time. Please remember to take all items of value with you when leaving your vehicle unattended. Remember to lock your vehicles and keep the windows rolled up. As always, please call and report any suspicious activity in your area. Along with proactive policing, the residents of Saugus are a great resource for deterring crime.

This week we had two vehicle burglaries in Zone 4 Saugus. The first occurred in the 28500 block of Bud Court between Wednesday, 05/01/2013, and Thursday, 05/02/2013. The victim discovered her vehicle had a broken driver’s side window. After inspecting the vehicle she noticed her stereo was missing.

The second vehicle burglary occurred in the 26800 block of Bouquet Canyon Road early Saturday morning, 05/04/2013. The victim left her vehicle parked overnight at a local eating establishment. When she returned to her vehicle she noticed the rear passenger window was broken and her purse was missing. Detectives are asking anyone who has further information about either vehicle burglary to call the station at 661-255-1121.

There was burglary at Saugus High School between Friday, 04/26/2013 and Monday, 04/29/2013. Person(s) unknown broke into the front office and stole money and damaged desks. Burglaries to our schools and disrupting the educational process will not be tolerated in Santa Clarita. Santa Clarita detectives are actively working the case.

If you have any information regarding the above mentioned crimes please call the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station at 661-255-1121.
