Amgen fan activities start 10 a.m. today at Town Center

Tour of California race's Stage 7 starts at noon

Last year, Stage 6 started at Town Center.

 

WHO: Lance Armstrong and many of the world's top professional cyclists, Mayor Frank Ferry, City Officials, Santa Clarita's Local Organizing Committee for the 2009 Amgen Tour of California, live performers, community members and more.

WHAT: The 2009 Amgen Tour of California officially arrives in Santa Clarita. Top riders will be interviewed on stage and available for autographs and photos. 

WHEN: Saturday, February 21 from 10 a.m. - noon. Starting at 10 a.m., attendees can participate in tricycle races along Town Center Drive, mingle with Magic Mountain characters, and experience the Hart High School band and more up until the crack of the starter's pistol at noon when cyclists leave Santa Clarita for Pasadena.

WHERE: Westfield Valencia Town Center, located at 24201 West Valencia Boulevard, Santa Clarita 91355.

WHY: The largest cycling event in America, the 2009 Amgen Tour of California is a Tour de France-style cycling road race presented by AEG that challenges the world's top professional cycling teams to compete along a demanding 750-mile course from Sacramento to Escondido from February 14-22, 2009.
