To The Editor:

A few weeks ago I attended a rally in the park for Laurie Ender. I was moved to take time out of my Saturday morning to support Laurie because, in working with her on the executive board of the PTA at Helmers Elementary, I learned first-hand what a force of nature she is.

It was obvious during every meeting that Laurie always had the bigger picture in view while keeping every student at the forefront. It is said that a leader not only sees the forest for the trees, but is climbing the tallest tree to see what lies beyond the forest.

Laurie is looking to that next horizon and realizes that work must be done now. Part of her vision includes a medical facility that truly facilitates the needs of this valley. As a woman who had to choose to deliver her third child at a hospital outside of this valley because of possible complications, I appreciate her forward-thinking approach.

Laurie's commitment to the city of Santa Clarita is sincere and well informed. She has also opened my eyes to the importance of becoming involved in the city I live in - not just for the present, but for the future.

If we are to continue to be a small town with big-city amenities, then we must have someone on the City Council with the same personal touch and big vision. Laurie has the professional background and experience to handle large budgets and multi-layered pressure with amazing efficiency.

Laurie Ender has my vote for City Council - I hope she has yours.
