Three people were airlifted from the Rowher Flats off-road area in the Angeles National Forest on Monday evening after apparently being involved in a vehicle crash at the site, a Los Angeles County Fire Department spokesman said.

Ed Pickett, a supervising fire dispatcher, said the department first got the call around 6:54 p.m. The three stuck individuals were airlifted from the scene at approximately 7:32 p.m., he said.

One person was injured in the incident and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Pickett said it appears that person’s injuries were serious.

While the call came in as a cliff rescue, Pickett said it appears more likely that the three were involved in some kind of vehicle crash.

Rowher Flats is a designated area for off-highway vehicles such as dirt bikes or ATVs and is located west of Sierra

Highway in a remote area between Canyon Country and Agua Dulce.
